Prolight + Sound and VDT e. V. (Berufsverband der Tonschaffenden) intensify cooperation

Prolight + Sound and VDT e. V. will cooperate even more closely in future. To this end, the leading international trade fair for the entertainment technology industry has become a new supporting member of the professional association for sound professionals and will be represented with its own stand at the upcoming VDT Tonmeistertagung in Düsseldorf from 8 to 11 November 2023. In addition, the two partners will continue the jointly established ProAudio College, which had its premiere in April 2023. At Prolight + Sound 2024 (19 to 22 March), the seminar programme for sound professionals, which has been expanded once again, will again be dedicated to various main topics, will be even more international and will both strengthen the up-and-coming generation in the industry and offer specialised advanced training. Independently of this advanced training series, the VDT will be involved in the event in Frankfurt with an extensive trade fair presence.

By intensifying their cooperation, the partners are pursuing the goal of actively supporting new developments in the audio industry, putting new trends and technologies in the spotlight and bringing companies and users and decision-makers together. "Professional audio solutions have always been a mainstay of Prolight + Sound. This is also our claim for the future - and to this end, we will be pulling together even more closely with the VDT. We are already looking forward to exciting workshops, lectures and discussions at the ProAudio College at Prolight + Sound 2024 and, of course, to interesting discussions at our stand at the Tonmeistertagung now in November," says Mira Wölfel, Director Prolight + Sound.

Ulrike Anderson, President of the VDT, adds: "For us, the cooperation with Prolight + Sound is more than a synergetically logical step. By bundling our expertise, we will be able to reach our target groups even more effectively in the future and offer an increasingly diverse pro audio community qualified added value with offers such as the ProAudio College. We are looking forward to numerous joint projects and much mutual inspiration. Prolight + Sound is also a sponsor of the VDT's "Connecting Audio Night" on 9 November. In the historic ambience of "Seifenfabrik Dr. Thompson's", one of the oldest factory buildings in the heart of Düsseldorf, exhibitors, professionals and the next generation of the industry will have the opportunity to network intensively and round off the second day of the 32nd Tonmeistertagung together.

For more than 25 years, Prolight + Sound has been presenting technological innovations for live events and studio productions. Hundreds of international companies present their innovations at the Frankfurt exhibition centre - plus numerous special areas and attractions, especially in the audio sector. For example, in addition to the ProAudio College, the Performance + Production Hub will be continued, highlighting topics around DJing and innovative sound tools. In addition, the Live Sound Arena makes it possible to experience the sound of powerful PA systems under real conditions. Last year, Prolight + Sound attracted 27,556 visitors from 113 countries.

With 2,000 members, VDT e. V. is one of the largest professional associations in the audio industry. It represents the interests of audio professionals of all ages from the fields of music production, radio, film, games, television and stage. The biennial Tonmeistertagung organised by the VDT promotes the active exchange of experience between professionals, manufacturers and equipment suppliers and also links pro-audio development, science and practice. With a comprehensive congress programme and affiliated trade fair, the community event influences the pulse of the pro audio industry and enables knowledge transfer at the highest level.
